YSA Kindness Project
For the YSA Kindness collaborative school project, the children created a mural and a large-scale diorama to illustrate that kindness is an integral part of the YSA spirit. As part of the diorama, each child created a small house to represent their family’s part in the greater YSA community. This allowed the students to develop a foundation of kindness, thereby becoming literate in the language and actions associated with both giving and receiving kindness.
Collaborative School Projects
An important component of our STEAM curriculum is the long-term collaborative project. The projects take place over the course of several weeks, allowing for an in-depth study of a high-interest topic. Rather than presenting facts in isolation, the long-term project promotes hands-on investigation and research, incorporating the STEAM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Some of our projects are shared below.
